ABP Network's annual Ideas of India Summit began in Mumbai on Friday, with a melodious Saraswati Vandana by well known singer and composer Sanjeevani Bhelande. Atideb Sarkar, Chief Editor of ABP Network, delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the two-day summit.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome to Ideas of India 2025.

A new frontier beckons.

Artificial Intelligence has brought expertise within grasp of billions. Data mining can solve problems like assessing the risk of disease. A second Space Race is underway; India is in it. And scientists are exploring the possibility of eternal life. 

What’s holding us back? 

Ourselves.

Many fear that AI will make the human race redundant, or worse, extinct. Political and non-state actors are mining our online data to spread disinformation. Space is increasingly reflecting the messy politics of Earth. And many economies are already struggling to support their ageing populations. 

Big questions. Here are some answers.

AI must be regulated in the public interest. Citizens should use data mining tools to identify sources of disinformation. Ground rules for Space must be enforced on Earth and beyond. As nations age, people need to extend their working lives and offices need to become more flexible.

We need leadership, collaboration and a little common sense. 

Humanity needs to renew the human spirit.  

That will take us to the next frontier.
