তৃণমূলে যোগদানের পর প্রথমবার মমতার সঙ্গে সাক্ষাত্ বাবুল সুপ্রিয়র (Babul Supriyo)। এদিন ঝালমুড়ি সংক্রান্ত প্রশ্নের জবাবে তিনি বলেন, "এখন বেশি চলছে ইউরিয়া দেওয়া মুড়ি। দিদি এইসব মুড়ি খেতে বারণ করেছেন।" তিনি আরও বলেন, "মমতার সঙ্গে কথা বলে আমি খুশি, দেখা করে আপ্লুত। যা দায়িত্ব ওঁরা দেবেন, আমি পালন করব। সুযোগ দেওয়ার জন্য আমি অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের (Abhishek Banerjee) কাছেও কৃতজ্ঞ। অন্য শিবির থেকে আসার পর ওঁরা যেভাবে আমাকে গ্রহণ করেছেন, আমি তার মর্যাদা রাখার চেষ্টা করব। আমার মনে হয়, আমি এখানে মন খুলে কাজ করতে পারব, মন খুলে গান করতে পারব। আমাকে যে গান গাইতে বলা হবে, তা আমি গাইব।"
