রাষ্ট্রপুঞ্জের পরিবেশ সংক্রান্ত সর্বোচ্চ পুরস্কার পেলেন মোদী

নয়াদিল্লি: রাষ্ট্রপুঞ্জের পরিবেশ সংক্রান্ত সর্বোচ্চ সম্মান ‘চ্যাম্পিয়ন্স অফ দ্য আর্থ’ পুরস্কার পেলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী। ফরাসি প্রেসিডেন্ট ইমানুয়েল মাঁকরের সঙ্গে যৌথভাবে আন্তর্জাতিক সৌর জোটের নেতৃত্বদান এবং ২০২২-এর মধ্যে ভারতে প্লাস্টিকের ব্যবহার বন্ধ করার লক্ষ্যমাত্রা নেওয়ার জন্যই মোদীকে এই পুরস্কার দেওয়া হল। ভারতের প্রধানমন্ত্রী ছাড়াও আরও পাঁচজন পুরস্কৃত হয়েছেন। এছাড়া কোচিন আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দরও পুরস্কৃত হয়েছে।

রাষ্ট্রপুঞ্জের পরিবেশ বিভাগের পক্ষ থেকে জানানো হয়েছে, এ বছর যাঁদের পুরস্কার দেওয়া হল, তাঁরা পরিবেশ রক্ষার জন্য উল্লেখযোগ্য কাজ করে চলেছেন। এই পুরস্কার পাওয়ায় মোদীকে শুভেচ্ছা জানিয়েছেন স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী রাজনাথ সিংহ, বিজেপি সভাপতি অমিত শাহ ও বাণিজ্যমন্ত্রী সুরেশ প্রভু।
