Mamata Banerjee on JU: "ওখানে নাকি নৈরাজ্য চলছে, তুমি এক পয়সাও দিয়েছ?" যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রসঙ্গে মোদিকে আক্রমণ মমতার!
Mamata Banerjee on Narendra Modi: হাওড়ার জনসভা থেকে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, "একজন প্রধানমন্ত্রী আজ যাদবপুর ইউনিভার্সিটির ছাত্রছাত্রীদের যে ভাষায় আক্রমণ করেছেন..."
হাওড়া: একজন বারুইপুরের সভা থেকে তুললেন যাদবপুর প্রসঙ্গ। আর অন্যজন তার পাল্টা দিলেন হাওড়ার সভা থেকে। প্রথমজন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদি আর পরের জন পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। বারুইপুরের সভা থেকে মোদি অভিযোগ করেন, যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের "ক্যাম্পাসের ভিতরে হুমকি দেওয়া হচ্ছে। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের দেওয়ালে দেশবিরোধী স্লোগান লেখা হচ্ছে।"
তার পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে হাওড়ার জনসভা থেকে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, যাদবপুর ইউনিভার্সিটির ছাত্রছাত্রীদের আক্রমণ করা হয়েছে। তাঁর কথায়, "একজন প্রধানমন্ত্রী আজ যাদবপুর ইউনিভার্সিটির ছাত্রছাত্রীদের যে ভাষায় আক্রমণ করেছেন, আমি মনে করি ছাত্র সমাজ ও যুব সমাজের প্রতিবাদ করা উচিত।"
এরপরই পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী প্রশ্ন তোলেন কেন্দ্রের সরকার যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের জন্য কোনও টাকা পয়সা দিয়েছেন কি না। "বলছে ওখানে নাকি নৈরাজ্য চলছে। তুমি এক পয়সাও যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়কে দিয়েছ? তুমি কি জানো যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় নম্বর ১ র্যাঙ্কে আছে? কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় আছে, প্রেসিডেন্সি আছে, সেন্ট জেভিয়ার্স আছে। মাথায় রেখে দিও।" এ ছাড়াও নিজের এক্স হ্যান্ডেল থেকে যাদবপুর প্রসঙ্গে প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির উদ্দেশ্যে একটি খোলা চিঠিও লিখেছেন তিনি।

Pained to ask: is this the way how you describe the meritorious students of the esteemed Jadavpur University? Is this your concept of decorum and courtesy? Jadavpur University has been receiving top ranks from your Government’s NIRF ranking framework year after year, and you descend to insult that centre of excellence? You stoop so low?
The students of the Jadavpur University have earned their place through merit and walk out with degrees, with intellect, with the ability to question. That is not anarchy. That is education and that is excellence.
Anarchy is not students raising their voices.
Anarchy is using bulldozers as instruments of power instead of justice. Anarchy is when farmers die and their voices are crushed. Anarchy is when those convicted of rape and other heinous crimes walk free for political convenience. Anarchy is denying the poor their rightful dues. Anarchy is dividing a nation along religious lines for votes. Anarchy is refusing to face the press, refusing accountability, refusing questions. Anarchy is refusing to acknowledge that Manipur is burning but you are busy with elections.
Students protesting do not constitute a breakdown of democracy - it is democracy in motion.
Please do not defame the educational institution which was inspired by our early nationalists including Sri Aurobindo as a pioneer. Please do not defame Bengal.…
এরপর প্রধানমন্ত্রী মোদিকে নৌকাবিহার নিয়েও আক্রমণ করতে শোনা যায় তাঁকে। মমতা বন্দোপাধ্যায় বলেন, "কখনও ছাত্রছাত্রীদের আক্রমণ করছ। কখনও মা বোন নাকি রাস্তায় হাঁটতে পারে না বলছ। আজকে নাকি উনি আবার নৌকা বিহার করেছেন।"
যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রসঙ্গে বলতে গিয়ে ওই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধ্যাপক তথা টালিগঞ্জ বিধানসভার সিপিএম প্রার্থী পার্থপ্রতিম বিশ্বাসও বলেন, প্রধানমন্ত্রী ভুল কথা বলছেন। কারণ, কেন্দ্রের তালিকা অনুযায়ী স্টেট এডেড বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়গুলোর মধ্যে ১ নম্বরে রয়েছে যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যলয়। তিনি বলেন, "যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পড়াশোনা হয় না, ধমকির রাজনীতি হয়, সেটা ভুল। কোনও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শ্রেষ্ঠ হয়ে ওঠে তার পঠনপাঠন, গবেষণা ও তার ভিতরের পরিবেশের উপর নির্ভর করে। ফলে সবটা টাকা দিয়ে হয় না। ফলে, যে পরিবেশ যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে বহু বছর ধরে রয়েছে, শিক্ষা বা গবেষণার যে পরিবেশ বা প্রশ্ন করার যে সুযোগ, সেই সংস্কৃতি, যা আসলে শাসক চায় না।"
