নয়াদিল্লি: ভারতরত্ন পাচ্ছেন প্রাক্তন রাষ্ট্রপতি প্রণব মুখোপাধ্যায়। মরণোত্তর ভারতরত্ন পাচ্ছেন সঙ্গীতশিল্পী ভূপেন হাজারিকা এবং প্রয়াত সমাজকর্মী তথা ভারতীয় জনসঙ্ঘের নেতা নানাজি দেশমুখ। এদিন সরকারি বিবৃতি এই সিদ্ধান্তের ঘোষণা করা হয়। ২০১২ থেকে ২০১৭ পর্যন্ত রাষ্ট্রপতি ছিলেন প্রণব মুখোপাধ্যায়।
প্রাক্তন রাষ্ট্রপতি তাঁর প্রতিক্রিয়া জানিয়েছেন টুইটারে। তিনি লেখেন, ভারতবাসীর প্রতি গভীর নম্রতা এবং কৃতজ্ঞতা জানিয়ে আমি এই মহান সম্মান ‘ভারতরত্ন’ গ্রহণ করতে চলেছি। আমি বারবার যা বলেছি সেকথাই আবার বলছি, দেশবাসীকে যা দিয়েছি, তাঁদের থেকে পেয়েছি অনেক বেশি।
এই তিনজনের দেশের সর্বোচ্চ অসামরিক সম্মান প্রাপ্তির খবরে টুইট করে তাঁদের শ্রদ্ধা জানান প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদি। প্রণব মুখোপাধ্যায় সম্পর্কে তিনি বলেন, প্রণবদা হলেন আমাদের সময়ের একজন অসাধারণ রাষ্ট্রনেতা। দশকের পর দশক ধরে নিঃস্বার্থ, নিরসলভাবে তিনি দেশসেবা করেছেন। দেশের সমৃদ্ধির যাত্রাপথে তিনি এক গভীর ছাপ রেখেছেন। তাঁর প্রজ্ঞা ও মেধার তুলনা অত্যন্ত বিরল। তিনি ভারতরত্ন পাওয়ায় আমি সত্যিই আনন্দিত।It is with a deep sense of humility and gratitude to the people of India that I accept this great honour #BharatRatna bestowed upon me.
